About
My name is Gabriela Lipson (she/her). I am a Stanford Psychology Undergraduate senior, student researcher, and certified yoga teacher. I have had the incredible privilege of working alongside my professor and mentor Dr. Murphy-Shigematsu for over 3 years.

I was also personally trained in Behavior Design by Professor Dr. BJ Fogg and worked in the Stanford Behavioral Design Lab for a couple of years. I am passionate about building a more compassionate, sustainable, and equitable world, and I have come to believe that cultivating Heartfulness can be a powerful way to achieve this collective reality.
Additionally, I've been a certified yoga teacher for 7 years and have been teaching mindfulness meditation for 6 years.
Gratefully, I have had opportunities to serve as teaching assistants for three different classes at Stanford: Stanford's Introduction to Psychology Class, Dr. Murphy-Shigematsu's Heartfulness class, and Stanford Lifework's Meeting the Moment course. I was selected to be part of Phi Beta Kappa honors society during my junior year.

This is a website to reflect upon all of my Stanford experiences, Heartfulness, and beyond. I'll share research along the way, some of my formal academic writing, and my mind's musings. Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
A Rumi
poem on gratitude
and existence:
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
